Most Times’ Farm was named after Jean Marie’s
horse Most Times. Most Times is a gorgeous 1985 chestnut Thoroughbred
gelding that raced until he was five years old. Most Times had numerous
wins and placings at Training and Novice level horse trials. He had wins and
placings at Radnor, Flora Lea, Middletown, Waredaca, and Pleasant Hollow
Horse Trials. In 1997 Most Times was tied for 13th place at the
National Level USCTA Training Horse and in 1996 Most Times and Jean Marie
were nationally placed USCTA 3rd Senior Training Rider and Area
2 USCTA 3rd Senior Training Rider. Been there and done that!
Always willing to please and very sweet natured, he became the horse to beat
at novice and training level horse trials and was seldom out of the
ribbons. Most Times’ work ethic and style inspired the farm’s name. When
it was time to move from eventing to the dressage ring, his sale helped
finance the farm’s facilities. It was with a fair amount of sadness that we sold our five acre farm. Despite its size, it was a facility very conducive to the early training of our event/jumper prospects. The commute to our jobs however, made it very difficult. As luck would have it, we sold several horses about the time of our move. We now rent stalls and have reduced our horse count considerably. In fact, we only have one horse training with us now, Destination Unknown (aka “Duie”). We will be looking for one or two good prospects over the next few months. Having one horse hasn’t deterred us from our competitions. “Duie” placed at Bucks County Horse Park at novice level last Fall, and won a very competitive novice event at the Virginia Horse Trials at Lexington, Virginia with our trainer Doug Payne riding him. This Spring we made our annual pilgrimage to Aiken SC for the Jumping Branch and Sporting Days Horse Trials in March. “Duie” jumped clean and with no time penalties in both events allowing Keith at Jumping Branch (at training level) and Jean Marie at Sporting Days (novice level) to finish on our dressage scores. Our thank you to Holly Payne for training and working with “Duie” the week prior to our arrival and for coaching and preparing us for our early start to the event season. Clinics at her family Applewood Farm with the whole Payne family were excellent prep sessions prior to heading South to Aiken! This trip to Aiken is about our seventh trip to Aiken in the last ten years. We have come to like the equine environment there so much that we have purchased approximately 15 acres and built a small barn with attached apartment. This Spring we have returned and have enjoyed scouting additional property with our friend and realtor Suzy Haslup. Please visit her website www.AikenHorseRealtor.com More pictures to follow of our new “home” as it develops. Now Most Times’ Farm LLC has physical locations in South Carolina and New Jersey! Over the last couple of years, it has been enjoyable to see so many of Most Times’ Farm graduates at events, jumping shows and clinics. Some of them are listed here and their pictures are on this site…… Most Times himself with owner Carole Curley, Castle Blues (aka JJ) who has qualified at the eventing two star event level with owner Leigh Anne DeAngelis, Blackstone with Lisa Lewis, Long Tall Sally with Emily Weber at the eventing one star level, “I Claudius” with owner Shannon Bilder, Dark Diamond Ruler with owners Julie and Tom Todaravic of Aiken ,SC , Lorenzo with owner Alex Sebastiani, Bon Jovi with owner Shannon Day, Timmy Tam, with owner Ceil Angst and his rider Casey McMahon. BEST WISHES and continued success with all your adventures. Keith and I are cheering you over the finish line!! We would like to close out with special thanks to the professional coaching we have been fortunate enough to receive with the Payne family at Applewood Farm. Doug, Holly and their mother Marilyn (please visit Doug’s web site PayneEventing.com ). Their extreme dedication and knowledge of the horse and rider does not go unnoticed by Keith and myself. We would also like to thank Beth Battel of Footlight Farm (www.footlightfarm.com) for the use of her beautiful facility and her care of my many horses and especially her long hours of dedicated help with so many of my horses that have gone on the their new and varied careers and for making me a more determined rider. Keith and I would also like to thank so many others for the gracious use of their facilities and their time, Mary Jane and Thomas Carey, Five Green Fields, Mary Mahrs of Yellowbrook Dressage Center, Margrit & Jack McCrane of Swimming River Farm, Kathy and Gary Pullen, Wood Hollow Farm, Rory Huston of Overbrook Farm. A special word of thanks for their special help, Gunn Heiberg and Wendy Kerekes in keeping our farm and animals healthy and up and running when we are away caring for others in our professions!
